Who is Megan Schirra
Megan Schirra is a certified Pilates and Yoga teacher for adults, teenagers and children. She has been working creatively with the body for more than 30 years. Starting with dance therapy (Fe Reichelt) and professional dance training at the Laban Centre London in Modern Dance and African-Caribbean Dance she continued to completing her Pilates training at The Place, London, and her Yoga training in Scaravelli inspired Yoga with John Stirk, London, author of “The Original Body” and “Deeper Still”. Megan features in John Stirk’s book “The Original Body, Primal movement for Yoga teachers”. Additionally Megan has gathered extensive experience in Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, Body-Mind-Centering, Breathing Therapy and is well versed in pre- and post natal Yoga and Pilates. After completing her Pilates certification she taught in London and Seattle for 7 years and from 2008 to 2012 she ran her own studio in Darmstadt, Germany. In May and June 2023 she completed a training in Huai Xuan and Wuji Gong with Dr. Yaron Seidman. Since August 2013 Megan has been living and working in Zurich.
Yoga, Pilates and Wuji Gong Meditation
Her range of experience includes individual and group work on the mat, as well as work on all Pilates equipment. Furthermore, she offers Scaravelli inspired Yoga, Yoga-Pilates Fusion, creative Bodywork movement sessions and Hsin Tao moving meditation on a one-on-one basis as well as in group classes. Megan works with people of all physical abilities as well as all ages. She is specialized in working with people who are in rehabilitation from severe injuries or who suffer from chronic pain conditions. She is passionate about supporting people to be fit and healthy even at 80+.



Certifications
Megan loves training with children and young people and has worked with children professionally in the past. She began her certification course in autumn 2012 to become a certified children’s yoga teacher with Susanne Eichinger, Munich, which she successfully completed in December 2014. This diploma is recognised by the Yoga Alliance USA.

From January to May 2013, Megan taught daily children’s yoga classes and various workshops for teens and teachers in Cape Town, South Africa, in different township schools under sometimes difficult conditions for the NGO Earthchild Project. It is her mission and vocation to support children and young people to recognise their potential, to develop a good feeling for their bodies and to offer them tools to help balance their daily demands.
